6. Fellowship Program
Once your residency program is completed, you are eligible for joining the fellowship program. This is similar to the residency program, the only difference between the two is that the fellowship program is more advanced. It teaches you to practice more complex and advanced practice.

7. Getting the certification
When you have completed your fellowship program, the next step is to get certified to start your practice. You will need to take an exam which is taken by the American Board of Internal Medicine. This test is important to start your journey as a Cardiologist. The exam has 2 sections – Multiple choice questions and the other one is ECG and imaging studies.
