Earlier this year a few of my students were looking at how they could help plant more trees. One student suggested #teamtrees, and said his Dad would match the pot. We put out a vase with a green ribbon around it and over a couple months dropped our loose change inside. With his Dad’s help we donated $200, which means 200 trees will get planted! 🌲
Planting trees is the cheapest way to absorb CO2 emissions. While it will take hundreds of years to build a mature forest, it hits on core of #sustainability: “making sure the current generation can meet its needs, while at the same time making sure future generations can meet their needs.” (The Brundtland Report, 1987) 🌍
